FRIDAY - April 26
The Kern River Festival begins on Friday with Event Setup at Riverside Park, Gates and tent for Registration, and a Downriver Fun Race to Town.
SATURDAY - April 27
The Brush Creek Extreme Race is noon Saturday -- complete with waterfalls, slides, a great granite amphitheater for spectator viewing.
Also on Saturday at Riverside Park is open Slalom practice for the Whitewater Slalom held on Sunday.
Saturday evening will be a no-host dinner/drink at Kern River brewing Company at the Backyard location for the brush Creek Awards.
SUNDAY - April 28
The Kern River Festival Triathlon is Sunday morning. The Triathlon course has been changed this year. This year it begins and ends in Riverside Park.
TJ Slalom Citizen Slalom & SUP Race follows the Triathlon, starting with the boaters meeting at 11:00
The drawing for the 50/50 Raffle will be on Sunday following the slalom race. This will be a 50/50 prize that you will need to be present to win. Additional cool gear and schwag raffle items will be raffled off several times during the games at Brush Creek, the Brew Pub Saturday night, and at Riverside Park on Sunday. (If you win a gear item, your ticket will go back in the pot for the big 50/50). Come join in the fun!!
Taking advantage of Riverside Park's new sidewalks is a Children's Sidewalk Art Contest Sunday afternoon. Free to all children under 18 years and chalk is provided.
Base camp for all events is Riverside Park in downtown Kernville. There is sure to be plenty to keep you entertained as you hang-out on the banks of the mighty Kern. All events have easy access for boaters and spectators and are free to view. Equipment Demos Saturday & Sunday in Riverside Park. Please see the Kern River Festival Map for more information.
Kern River Brewing Company at the Backyard location will have a no-host awards Saturday immediately following the Brush Creek Race.
Everyone is invited to come to the Festival and be a part of this long-running whitewater tradition! There is no charge to view any of the events. Sponsor and vendor booths will be setup in Riverside Park throughout the event. Come check out all the latest boats, paddling and outdoor gear!
